Commentary:

Today is the busiest day of the week in terms of economic data. CPI and Retail Sales were both released

earlier this morning and had conflicting effects on bond prices. CPI was very close to expectations and

continued to show that inflation is not an issue. Retail Sales beat expectations for March and February's

numbers were also revised higher. This is very good news for the economy as a whole and if consumers

continue to spend, then inflation cannot be far behind. This has put some noticeable pressure on bonds

while helping to lift the DJIA which rallied to close above 11k for the second day in a row yesterday.

Later this morning the Fed will release their economic synopsis in the form of their Beige Book. This will

demand the attention of the markets. It is expected to show continued economic conditions in most of the

country.

Commentary:

Bonds are down a little this morning mostly in reaction to some positive news form Greece which is pulling

what apparently remains of the flight to quality bid in Treasuries. There is no data being released today and

there really isn't much to provide a trading direction for bonds. Stocks are up moderately and there is a Fed

speaker or two on the docket today. Fed speak has been nothing to write home about as of late, though
