The nice thing about life is we have choices.  So many people consume themselves with worrying about what others are doing, instead of just appreciating their own lives. Our personal lives and business lives can either swallow us up or make us better.  The real successful people make it happen every day, they take chances. 

 I would have to say one of the best traits I can take with me is to not worry what others think of me.  I am a likable person, but I am not going to please everyone and that is that. I have a competitive edge that might put off other people, but I am fair.  I wake up every morning and I am thankful that I am good to my family and friends, but I can always be better.  I have choices in how I treat others.  I read the following quote and it really struck home, I hope you enjoy it.

Arrowhead Arts Associations Summer Music Festival in Tavern Bay.

It is that time of year again where the summer nights are getting warmer and the filter of music through the air will be heard.  The Arrowhead Arts Association will be putting on three concerts in July and August  ~  Bring out the chairs and pack up dinner and join your friends for some wonderful evenings.

The Arrowhead Arts Association is proud to announce the 2010 Summer Music Festival at ALA's Tavern Bay Beach Club.

Hot August Night - A Neil Diamond Salute on July 15

Pete Jacobs and His Wartime Radio Revue on July 22. 

The weekend is upon us again and there are some many things to do this weekend if you are up in Lake Arrowhead. 

The Lake Arrowhead Village Events for the weekend of 6-25-10 are as follows:

• Friday Night is Farmers Market Night starting at 5PM
• Friday Night concert with "SuperLark" at Center Stage starting at 5:30PM

Saturday will be a full event at the Village ~

The Annual Home Expo will be in the Village both Saturday and Sunday.  Various businesses will have booths set up in the Village for anything home.  Window replacements/doors/awnings/heating and plumbing, etc...  Starting at 10AM both days.

• Saturday Night will be "Lights" a Journey tribute band at Center Stage starting at 5:30 (NOTE, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BANDS OF THE SEASON)

REMEMBER:  The Lake Arrowhead Rotary Art and Wine Festival will be going on in Tavern Bay and there is a Shuttle at the McDonalds Dock for free that will take you in between the Village and Tavern Bay. 

Rim Parks & Rec Summer 2010 Programs.  School is out and there are some great things to get the kids and adults into.  Our local Rim Parks & Rec department is doing what it does best... serving our community.  If your looking to take tennis lessons, swimming lessons or various other classes, the time is now to get out there and enjoy it.

Swimming Lessons, Each session is Monday - Friday, 30 minutes a day, 2 weeks, ages 6 months and up, $70.00 per session located at Arrowhead Ranch Pool (heated).
 
Tennis Program, First 4 sessions are Monday - Thursday, 1 hour per day, ages 7 & up, $38.00 per person; Session 5 is Monday - Wednesday, 1 hour per day, ages 7 & up, $30.00 per person, Sessions 6 - 7, adults only, 1 hour per day, $30 per person, located at Rim High School tennis courts.

The U.S. real estate market threatens to undercut the Obama administration’s stimulus-driven economic recovery as home sales resume their record slide following the end of the federal homebuyer tax credit.

Sales of previously owned homes unexpectedly fell 2.2 percent in May, the National Association of Realtors said yesterday, even as mortgage rates remained near an all-time low. New-home sales tumbled 19 percent last month, the biggest drop in 16 years, according to the median forecast of 76 economists in a Bloomberg News survey before the report later today.

The end of the tax credit in April is putting a strain on a market still hurting from the worst collapse since the Great Depression. Foreclosures may reach 1.9 million this year after a record 2 million in 2009, according to Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics Inc. in West Chester, Pennsylvania. It would take 8.3 months to sell all available 3.89 million existing homes, the Realtors’ association said.

“We’re going to see a home-sales air pocket after the end of the tax-credit stimulus,” said Richard DeKaser, a former economist at the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis who founded Washington-based Woodley Park Research. “That means housing will be a drag on third-quarter economic growth.”

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 1.6 percent yesterday as the home sales data raised concerns that economic growth isn’t strong enough to justify the 6 percent run-up in stock prices in the previous two weeks. The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury notes fell 0.09 percentage point to 3.16 percent.

Prices Are Crucial

The U.S. economy will expand 3 percent from July through September, down from 3.3 percent this quarter and 5.6 percent in the final three months of 2009, according to the median forecast of 67 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. The falloff may be steeper if the property market deteriorates more than currently expected.

“If there is a sharp decline not only in housing sales but in housing prices, that could threaten a recovery,” said Susan Wachter, a real estate professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in Philadelphia.

Combined sales of new and existing homes will drop 12 percent in the third quarter from the three months ending June 30, according to a forecast by Fannie Mae, the largest mortgage financier, before yesterday’s report. Freddie Mac, which ranks second after Fannie Mae, is projecting a 7.1 percent decline.

The median U.S. home price slid 29 percent to an almost eight-year low of $164,600 in February from a peak of $230,300 in July 2006, according to data from the Realtors group. Prices will drop 3.6 percent this year after falling 4.5 percent in 2009, the Washington-based Mortgage Bankers Association estimates.
